Network Cabling

Most devices these days require some sort of network connection. Some may only require wireless signals, but for the best results hard wired solutions should always be specified.

Hard wiring provides the best speed and quality and reduces issues with reception and ‘drop out’. Our network cabling solutions are always certified and tested so that you can be certain that they work each and every time you need them to.

TV & Audio Cabling

We supply and fit extra TV aerial outlets, satellite (Sky)/Virgin outlets and speakers for around the home. This is providing that there is already an aerial or satellite dish in place.

The question we are most often asked is do we still need to run hard wired cabling around the home for TV or computer related services for the next people who buy my property. If it’s the case of selling, I would put just an aerial outlet where you think a TV may go. Wifi typically is adequate for Netflix etc for the time being (when it goes 4K that may be a different story). People still use Freeview and so aerials are well worth retaining.

Some clients do request a whole host of services be run – Sky, Virgin, Freeview and a hard wired internet connection typically on one or two plates.

Office & Home Networking

Hardwired cabling is better in terms of speed and reliability vs WiFi. It is not subject to interference providing it has been run correctly and can provide speeds of up to and over 1Gbps. We usually install it for computers, printers or IOT style equipment. It can also be used for TVs, games consoles and CCTV.

Hardwiring is preferable over wireless networking when there are issues with WiFi interference – common within London, speed issues or even lag (in terms of gaming). We often use CAT5e or CAT6 for distributing HDMI signals too.

Installation and certification – CAT5e – CAT6

We provide installation of network cabling in CAT5e (typically 100Mbits in speed) and CAT6 (typically 1Gbits/1000Mbits in speed) including full certification that the network is capable of carrying that data.

Fibre Optic Cabling

Fibre optic cabling is typically installed to link networks between buildings or when completely secure lines of transmission are required. Installation requires specialist knowledge and training.

There is a common misconception that your ‘fibre broadband’ is a fibre optic cable run to the house, in fact it’s just run to the street and then distributed as copper cabling from the street cabinet.

Pricing

Installation of fibre optics starts from £400 excluding VAT (£480 including VAT) for an end to end point (supply and fitting) with test certificates showing data speed test results, length etc.

Great job done quicker than expected. Would definitely use again. So much easier to deal with than the last two electricians I used who messed up this relatively simple job in the first place. Would have saved a lot of time and stress if I had found these guys in the first instance. Highly recommended.

Very efficient company. From the moment the enquiry was sent, the correspondence to set up the appointment and discuss the job was clearly explained. The engineers who attended the work were very courteous and carried out the work professionally. They took their time to also take me through their final assessment and offered valuable advice on improvements. I’d certainly recommend CJ Sparks, and I would use them again in the future.
